This past week, Frazier Signal Technologies responded to an emergency traffic signal repair call from the Town of Rockport after a serious incident.
A driver experienced a medical emergency, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway and strike a utility pole and several trees. The impact loosened the pole’s guy wire, allowing the utility poles to lean inward and lowering the span wire traffic signals to a height that created a hazard for passing vehicles.
Before repairs could be made, a large vehicle struck the lowered signals, breaking the lower span wire and damaging multiple signal heads.
Upon arrival, the Frazier Signal Technologies team secured and repaired the guy wire, restored proper tension to the upper span wire, and returned the traffic signals to their correct operating height. We then replaced the damaged signal heads, reattached the lower span wire, and recalibrated the camera detection system.
With all repairs completed and the intersection operating safely, we were able to return the signal to full service.
