Alpha Battery Backup System
It’s a serious situation, but one that can be prevented. We recently installed an Alpha battery backup system at the intersection of Rte 1A and 46 in Holden, purchased from New England Traffic Solutions. These backup units keep signals running during outages and cost around $7,500, installation included.
If a backup isn’t in the current budget, please remember—and remind others—that a dark intersection should always be treated as a four-way stop.
